I’m starting 2014’s knitting challenge with two new cowl patterns, first up is the Angelis Cowl:
Angelis is an extremely simple knit that results in a wonderfully pretty cowl; with a deep wavy edge at both top and bottom there is no right or wrong way up.
The pattern includes directions for a short close fitting version, a deep medium circumference version (as in the main picture) and a long narrow version that could be wrapped more than once around your neck. It is very easy to adjust the size of your cowl and the pattern includes details on how to do so.
My sample was knit in Fyberspates scrumptious 4ply, which is a lovely, soft merino / silk blend that is perfect for knits that are close to your skin.
My other new pattern is the Smalti Cowl:
This cowl is knit entirely in the round, the ‘smalti’ pattern is achieved through slipping stitches, so you are only ever working with one yarn colour at a time. Using only a small amount of aran or worsted weight yarn it is also the perfect stash buster for using up some leftover yarn.
The finished cowl is 7” / 18cm high and 23” / 58cm in diameter, the size of the cowl is very easy to adjust and the pattern includes details on how to do so.
My sample was knit in Garnstudio Drops Nepal in shades orange and mustard, you could use absolutely any worsted or aran weight yarn, cascade 220 would be a great worsted weight choice.
Until the end of January I am offering these two patterns as buy one get one free, click here to get the discount now, I hope that you like them!
